JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Tax Director, the Senior Tax Analyst will provide assistance to the Tax Director in managing the Global Tax Function, with responsibilities in the areas of global tax reporting, tax process improvement, and tax compliance and conduct research, planning, and analysis. In this role, he/she will work closely with members of the tax, legal, and financial reporting team and Company’s external tax advisors, financial statement auditors, and governmental tax auditors.   

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compute and analyze monthly, quarterly and year-end income tax provision, reporting and tax disclosures
  • Maintain and analyze deferred tax inventories and continuity schedules.
  • Gather and prepare support for various corporate tax filings and election forms.
  • Review and analyze tax filings and reconcile to provision.
  • Calculate tax installments and maintain cash tax reporting files
  • Prepare tax journal entries, analyze and reconcile all tax GL accounts (income tax, transaction tax and withholding taxes).
  • Log, match, analyze, action and report on tax notices received.
  • Provide support for outsourced global transaction tax compliance
  • Preparation, analyze and report intercompany transactions and transfer pricing documentation to support arm’s length transactions and OECD requirements.
  • Comply with ICFR/SOX protocol and attestation requirements.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Good understanding US GAAP and IFRS tax accounting rules
  • Good Canadian and US tax knowledge
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analytical tools, and other Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to think critically and recommend ideas for improvement of existing policies, practices and tools.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to details
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions
  • Ability to work independently without much supervision
  • Experience working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and prioritizing various deliverables
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid office/home environment

WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED

5 years of related experience

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
Preferred: Masters Degree or equivalent
