JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Financial Analyst, Finance is a critical finance position within the Finance Team at Livingston. The responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the active involvement in process improvement initiatives, analysis and accurate reporting of the assigned general ledger accounts, assisting in the analysis of complex accounting matters, standards and implementation of new accounting pronouncements, and assisting with coaching, training and development of staff. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Assists with the research of complex accounting matters and drafts technical accounting memos and process documentation;
  2. Assists the Senior Manager with improving departmental processes to gain efficiencies, makes recommendations on improving established policies and procedures, prepare documentation, and implements changes;
  3. Participates and/or  leads accounting/audit projects;
  4. Prepares reports for Senior Manager and/or Finance team;
  5. Trains, mentors and coaches staff on the following but not limited to account reconciliations and analysis, financial system(s) and policies and procedures;
  6. Engages cross functional teams to resolve reconciliation items and/or to drive process changes;
  7. Identifies performance gaps and recommends training, where required, to the Senior Manager; and
  8. Prepares journal entries and other analyses for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close in the area assigned;
  9. Liaise with internal and external auditors, and responds to inquiries, information and reports;
  10. Assists staff with the troubleshooting and resolution of issues or problems;
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
  • Ability to think critically and recommend ideas for improvement of existing policies and practices
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage varying deadlines
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to coach, mentor and guide team members
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting systems
  • In-depth knowledge of preparing and analyzing account reconciliation
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel

WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED

5 years of related experience

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
Preferred: Masters Degree or equivalent
