JOB SUMMARY

We currently have an opening for a Financial Analyst within our Financial Accounting team, with a focus on prepaids & fixed asset accounting. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: preparation of account reconciliations and analysis of assigned general ledger (G/L) accounts, ensuring all related journal entries are processed in a timely manner in accordance with IFRS and company guidelines, working on ad hoc projects to make the accounting close process more efficient and to provide timely and accurate information to support business decisions.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Carries out month end close activities such as: preparing reconciliations and analysis of assigned G/L accounts; monitoring monthly accruals of assigned G/L accounts; preparing journal entries as required.
  • Participates in quarterly and annual audits.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset sub-ledgers, ensuring accurate tracking of asset capitalization and disposals.
  • Perform regular reconciliations between fixed asset sub-ledgers and the general ledger to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Collaborating with other teams to get necessary information regarding capitalization and disposals of fixed assets.
  • Investigates and resolves or escalates issues on a timely basis relating to financial data quality, unusual transactions, outstanding items and reconciliations to department manager or supervisor and/or immediate manager when necessary.
  • Participate in projects that improve the accounting close cycle and support business decision making.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Technologically proficient; has an affinity for systems and applications
  • Knowledge of IFRS and audit standards
  • Good understanding of balance sheet accounts and accrual accounting
  • Excellent communication (written & oral) skills

WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED

2 years of related experience

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting
