JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Financial Planning and Analysis will be responsible for providing financially driven decision support to the business. The Director will be a source of financial expertise for the Senior Leadership Team and ensure that long term, profitable growth is delivered in line with the company's strategic goals.

The role involves leading the annual strategic planning and budgeting processes, and ensuring effective forecasts are produced throughout the year. The Director will create useful management reporting and KPIs that link to the strategic goals.

The Director will interact with senior management and the executive team on matters concerning the current and long term financial performance of the business unit and its operating models. An ability to translate complex financial and business metric data into clear, actionable next steps with senior management will be crucial to success in this role.

The company is undergoing change as part of its continuous improvement program. The Director must be able to lead change and make proactive recommendations that are accepted and understood by the team.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the annual budget process, working collaboratively with a multi-functional team. Challenge key assumptions based on actual trends, knowledge of the business model, and the need to continuously improve overall profitability. Ensure an accurate forecast is built with buy in from all key leadership team members.

  • Establish budget tools, set timelines and act as project manager for the company, ensuring all budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed on time.
  • Manage budgeting & forecasting process on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Establish budget calendar and communicate expectations for the budget process to organizational leaders.
  • Set timeline for forecast completion and adjusts forecast each month updating data from previous month and resetting forecast for the year.
  • Ensure quality and availability of budgeting and forecasting tool (Hyperion Planning).
  • Ensure that results make sense and the data is accurate.

  • Previous experience in financial analysis and planning with strong link to business and operations a must
  • Previous people management experience is required
  • Excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to interpret data, analyze information, and an ability to write formal recommendations and proposals
  • An ability to use a variety of technology tools to access information is required.

WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED

7 years of related experience

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Finance
Preferred: Masters Degree or equivalent in Business
