JOB SUMMARY
The Buyer is responsible for purchasing indirect goods, supplies, or equipment for our business. Their duties include negotiating deals with suppliers, managing all aspects of the supplier contracting process, researching alternative suppliers, and backing up other Team members on the Procure-2-Pay System.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers.
- Negotiating contracts and pricing with suppliers.
- Assessing the quality and reliability of suppliers.
- Assessing the financial status of suppliers.
- Reviewing and negotiating all supplier contract documentation working in collaboration with legal.
- Placing purchase orders for goods and services.
- Ensuring that orders are accurate and complete.
- Creating purchase orders based on contractual obligations.
- Negotiating favorable prices and terms with suppliers.
- Monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Ability to gather and analyze large amounts of data at a macro and micro level.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to think three steps ahead.
- Ability to work independently with business leaders and without much supervision.
- Ability to take initiative and constructively challenge the status quo to improve processes Experience working under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and prioritizing various deliverables Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
- Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of the business environment.
- Ability to clearly understand the business objectives and link the financial results/data to operational performance drivers.
- Advanced knowledge in MS Excel; Hyperion experience strongly preferred;
- Analytical and math skills.

EDUCATION
CERTIFICATIONS DESCRIPTION
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or Finance.
