JOB SUMMARY

The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating all activities within a Release Operations team, shift scheduling, and managing productivity levels to ensure client satisfaction. The successful candidate will be providing support and leadership to the team, with focus on meeting release commitment, improving accuracy and maintaining employee engagement. This position is located in Taylor, Michigan supporting the afternoon shift with some weekends as needed. Must be able to come to the office 1 day a week.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise Release Pool staff on a day-to-day basis, assisting with productivity, staffing levels, and with ongoing coaching, guidance, training, and development for the members.  
  • Provides staff performance appraisal assessments to the Production Manager, as needed.
  • Assign and monitor work flow to ensure accurate and timely release and classification of all shipments for the designated shift.
  • Maintains an excellent working relationship with Managers, Service Delivery, clients, and/or carriers.
  • Facilitates the relationships between Release Operations, Client Service Teams, and other internal departments within Livingston.
  • Provides technical expertise in Customs regulations.
  • Accountable for Release Operations service levels.
  • Identifies process improvements and efficiencies by encouraging and facilitating discussions within Release Operations for opportunities to enhance client service and improve day to day operations.
  • Participates in the development, coordination, and implementation of required changes to Livingston’s processes and procedures to incorporate new regulations and/or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitates the implementation of new business for Release Operations.
  • Monitors ABI rejects, and approve holds for work queues to ensure they are corrected, and escalations are resolved as required.
  • May assist Release Operations, as necessary, to help the team meet its performance objectives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Past experience with coaching and mentoring, or passion in continuing learning in leadership
  • Good interpersonal skills to deal effectively with team members and others within the organization. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Customs regulations, policies and procedures. 

WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED

3 years of related experience

Required: High School/GED or equivalent
