JOB SUMMARY
The US Customs Post Entry Manager is responsible for overseeing all post-entry activities related to imported goods, ensuring rigorous compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, and managing corrections, audits, and duty recovery processes. Lead efforts to ensure the accuracy of import entries after initial submission, handling corrections, protests, and complex regulatory responses to maintain compliant trade practices. This role oversees critical processes like Post Summary Corrections (PSC), Protests, CF28/29's and penalties. You will serve as a strategic partner to both clients and internal teams, and your expertise will play a critical role in protecting clients from costly penalties while ensuring exceptional service delivery.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and oversee the preparation, submission, and tracking of Post Summary Corrections (PSCs), Protests, Temporary Import Bonds (TIB) adjustments, and other relates post entry activities.
- Serve as subject matter expert for our both our clients and internal teams.
- Serve as a liaison with Customs officials, importers, and internal teams to resolve complex entry issues and compliance matters.
- Partner with clients to resolve classification, valuation, and duty-related issues, providing clear guidance and solutions.
- Ensure strict compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) laws and regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement internal policies and procedures for post-entry processes to ensure consistency and adherence to regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of Post Entry Specialists, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update procedures to maintain compliance, disseminating critical information to relevant teams.
- Train and mentor staff on customs compliance best practices and post-entry procedures.
- Prepare and present performance metrics, compliance reports, and process improvement recommendations to leadership.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Demonstrated experience in Customs brokerage, in particular in Post Entry activities with previous management experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. import regulations and PGAs
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
Work Environment:
- This role can be office-based or hybrid
- May involve regular interaction with government agencies, auditors, and various external partners.
- Occasional travel may be required
