JOB SUMMARY
The Programmer supports and maintains software applications and programs for one or more business units. This includes creation and/or modification of new or existing applications and programs; and develops programming code based on technical specifications. The Programmer may assist in the development and design of software applications and programs.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and maintain software applications. This includes code, test and document new and existing applications and programs. Assist in software application development and design when required.
- Develop new software applications or modify existing applications based on technical specification. Write code and test software programs.
- Develop programming code based on technical specification. Write and maintain programming documentations.
- Prepare unit test plans and test changes made to existing and newly developed software programs.
- Participate as a project team member. May assist project leader with gathering and analyzing business requirements and specifications and ensure assigned tasks meets project timelines.
- Participate in implementation planning and provide post-implementation support.
- Contribute to the preparation of business analysis documents including solution definition.
- Assist with the technical and functional design and/or application prototype as prescribed by business specifications and analytical input from the project leader.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software application issues received from end-users. Escalate highly technical or complex application issues to Senior Application Developer or Manager, IT.
- Assist team members or Manager, IT in the research of systems issues and products as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures.
