JOB SUMMARY
The Supervisor, U.S. Post Entry is responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance pertaining to post summary corrections (PSC, Protest), post summary activities (CF28/29, TIB), Reconciliation entries, ensuring compliance with US Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”); managing workflow, auditing entries and processes. The Supervisors oversees a team of Post Entry and Reconciliation Specialists by managing daily priorities, leading, coaching and developing staff.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise the daily activities of identified Post Entry and Reconciliation Specialist and Analysts which includes but not limited to assign and delegate tasks; train, coach and mentor staff; evaluate and complete performance evaluations; recommend training where required to the Manager, Post Entry.
- Address and resolve internal and external client inquiries or requests escalated by staff; ensuring Livingston and clients comply with regulatory and procedural requirements.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on post summary requirements for internal and external clients. This includes but not limited to:
- Understand regulatory requirements and timelines for allowable post entry corrections to advise internal and external clients on correct application;
- Respond and assist internal and external clients with their inquiries or requests; troubleshoot and resolve client’s issues in a timely manner and escalate complex issues or inquiries to the Manager, Post Entry.
- Provide guidance and develop training to internal staff on proper entry requirements.
- Keep current and up to date by monitoring and analyzing CBP issued instructions (i.e. ACE Entry Summary Business Rules) to ensure compliance with regulatory changes. Propose and present recommendations to minimize liability and risk to the business operations and clients to the Manager, Post Entry.
- Contribute to the creation of technical documentation/user manuals for use by appropriate business unit. Suggest items to review in training business units on post entry or reconciliation entry requirements.
- Confirm identified system issues. Create and monitor internal IT helpdesk tickets involving application issues for proper resolution. Escalate outstanding items, as necessary.
- Trend U.S. Customs activity through monitoring of Requests for Information and Proposed and/or Action Taken via CBP Forms 28 and 29.
- Recruit, interview, and inform or make hiring and firing decisions. Consult with Human Resources and reporting Manager about employee relations including disciplinary action.
- Create and update departmental and operational policies and procedures, when required.
- Audit internal processes for compliance.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management
- Adhere to established policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Working knowledge of computer applications, applicable systems and tools including Customs Brokerage Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to problem solve, handle large volumes of work, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication, initiative and data analysis skills.
- Strong attention to detail
